I have already recommended both Bubion village and the Casa de la Luz to friends and family and hope to go back myself one day. The Poquiera valley is stunning and the terrace provides amazing views to the peaks of the Sierra Nevada as well as to the Mediterranean sea (and mountains of Africa beyond on clear evenings). We spent a relaxing week walking the many paths throughout the valley and its environs (carrying our 12 month old daughter!) – across pretty mountainsides, to dramatic gorges, through forest patches and towards the snowy peaks, collecting chestnuts and walnuts along the way. What could be better?! The locals are friendly and Jenny and Manuel are excellent hosts. A fabulous break!
