Granada

Granada is one of the most spectacular of the Andalusian provinces.

The beautiful city of Granada is famous for its’ Alhambra, the only Moorish palace on European soil. It is made attractive by the Sierra Nevada, Spain’s highest mountain chain, and the largest National Park, with a unique nature. Don’t forget the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea. One moment you can be standing in snow and the next lying on a beach!

Le Chien Andalous offers properties in the “Alpujarras”, a region famous for its typical white Moorish villages such as Bubion and Pitres, located on the southern side of the Sierra Nevada.
The region of the Alpujarras was the last place were the Moors were allowed to live after the fall of Granada. You will notice the signs of the moors in the watering system, the arquitecture and crafts. In 1568 the moors were forced to leave Spain and the area was repopulated by people from the north of Spain.

Here you can walk various routes such as the GR 7 and mountain trails, enjoy the peace and relax and try some of the restaurants, bars and shops in the villages which are within walking distance of each other.

Orgiva is located slightly lower. Here we offer some bungalows with private swimming pools surrounded by olive and orange trees.

The “Valle de Lecrin”, or: “the Valley of Joy”, as the Arabs called this region is located south of Granada City. It is ideal for various excursions to Granada; the beach; or the Sierra Nevada.
